EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team takes to the road for the first time this season when it travels to Frankfort, Kentucky, to take on Kentucky State University Thursday at 5 p.m. (CST).

Thursday's contest is the first of two games on the Screaming Eagles' slate this week as USI returns to the Physical Activities Center Saturday at 1 p.m. to host Bluefield Sate College. It marks the first time this season that the Eagles will play twice in one week.

Both games will be aired on WPSR 90.7 FM, while live audio and live stats can be accessed at gousieagles.com.

The Eagles (4-0) are coming off three straight Midwest Region wins over teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, including an 83-64 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College in their last outing.

Senior guard Stephanie Carpenter scored a game-high 20 points on the strength of five three-point field goals, while junior forward/center Anna Hackert added 17 points and seven rebounds.

Hackert leads the Eagles with 18.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest, while Carpenter is chipping in 13.0 points and a team-best 3.8 assists per game.

USI leads the all-time series with Kentucky State, 13-3, after defeating the Thorobreds, 94-58, at the PAC last year.

Kentucky State (3-4) is coming off an 85-76 win over Bluefield State and is playing its first home game of the year when it hosts the Eagles Thursday. Senior guard LaShell West, who had 22 points in the win over Bluefield State, leads the Thorobreds with 14.9 points per contest.
