EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team allowed late goals in the first and second half in losing to ninth-ranked Quincy University, 3-1, Sunday afternoon for Senior Day at Strassweg Field. USI sees its record fall to 9-6-1 overall and 7-6-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Quincy rises to 14-0-3 overall, 12-0-2 in the conference.

The Eagles fell behind late in the first half when the Hawks' Hayle Markway scored with 26 seconds left before halftime. Quincy would maintain the 1-0 lead through most of the second half until it sealed the victory with a pair of goals within one minute. The Hawks extended the lead to 2-0 at 81:35 before sealing the victory at 82:21.
The Eagles would get onto the scoreboard at 87:26 when junior forward
Katelan Carneal (Evansville, Indiana) converted a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 3-1. The goal was Carneal's second of the year.
USI concludes the 2013 regular season Wednesday when it travels to Bellarmine University for a 2:55 p.m. (CDT) contest. The Knights rise to 10-5-2 overall and 9-4-1 in the GLVC after defeating at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 2-1, this afternoon.
Bellarmine holds the all-time series lead with USI, 11-6-2, after taking a pair from the Eagles last year. The Knights also have taken eight of the last 10 games with two ties. The battles between the Eagles and the Knights have been tough with four overtime contests in the last 10 matches.
