EVANSVILLE, Ind.--- The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team will dress in pink Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts the University of Illinois Springfield in its "Dig for the Cure" match at the Physical Activities Center. The Screaming Eagles finish their three-match homestand when they host McKendree University the following day at 3 p.m.

Current East Division standings: USI has won eight of its last nine matches, and is currently 7-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, 14-4 overall. The Eagles hold second place in the GLVC East Division volleyball standings, while the Prairie Stars and Bearcats are at the bottom of the division with a 2-7 (5-12, overall) and 3-6 (5-13, overall) conference record, respectively.

Eagles lead conference at the net. The Eagles continue to lead the GLVC in blocks, with 106, averaging 2.80 per set. Fifty-seven of those are credited to sophomore middle blocker
Abbey Winter (Germantown, Illinois) who leads the conference, averaging 1.50 per set.

Illinois Springfield Notes: The Prairie Stars are struggling this season, dropping five of their last six conference matches. UIS enters Friday's match coming off a 3-2 win against non-conference opponent Lindenwood University on Tuesday.Â

McKendree Notes: The Bearcats face Bellarmine University Friday before making their way over to the PAC for Saturday's bout. McKendree is coming off a big five-set win against the University of Indianapolis last week Saturday. Bailey Kampwerth leads the Bearcats with 163 kills, averaging 2.36 per set. Defensively, McKendree leads the conference-only stats in digs, averaging 18.61 per set.

Eagles vs. Bearcats: The Eagles lead McKendree, 10-0, in the all-time series. USI swept the Bearcats last year, 3-0, at the PAC and later on the road.

Foam finger Friday: The first 100 guests through the door on Friday will receive a "GO USI" foam finger. Fans coming to Friday's match against Illinois Springfield are encouraged to wear pink to help the Eagles raise breast cancer awareness. On Saturday, the first 100 USI students will receive a USI Volleyball t-shirt.
