EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team heads north this weekend to close out its five-match road swing, first against Lewis University on Friday at 7 p.m., then the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday at 3 p.m. USI enters this weekend having won five of its last six games. The Screaming Eagles lone loss during that span was a 3-2 decision against the University of Indianapolis last weekend.

Current East Division standings: The Eagles are currently 5-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, 11-4 overall, and hold third place in the GLVC East Division volleyball standings. USI trails Lewis (11-4, 7-0 GLVC) and UIndy, which holds the number one and two spot, respectively. UW-Parkside is in fifth place with a 3-4-conference standing, 9-7 overall.Â

Eagles lead at the net. USI leads the Great Lakes Valley Conference in blocks averaging 2.92 per set, thanks in part to sophomore middle blocker
Abbey Winter (Germantown, Illinois) who leads the league with 45, averaging 1.45 per set. Winter recorded her first double-double of the season, leading the Eagles with 16 kills and 11 blocks in Tuesday's 3-2 win against Bellarmine. Freshman middle blocker
Amy Zwissler (Blooming, Indiana) is ninth in the GLVC, averaging 1.13 blocks per set.

Lewis notes: The Flyers enter this weekend undefeated in GLVC play. As a team Lewis leads the conference in hitting and kills, with a .278 attacking percentage, averaging 14.36 kills per game. Kim Vertin and Alexis Davito lead the league in kills, averaging 3.86 and 3.71 per game, respectively. Davito also tops the conference in aces at .46 per set.

Eagles vs. Flyers: USI trails the all-time series with the Flyers, 10-23. The Eagles fell twice last season to Lewis, 3-0 and 3-1.Â

UW-Parkside notes:Â The Rangers are looking to bounce back after falling 3-1 to Lewis University on Tuesday night. Makenzie Fahnestock leads UWP in kills totaling 138, with Bridget Nickel in second having racked up 109.

Eagles vs. Rangers: USI leads the all-time series with UW-Parkside, 25-5. Last year the Eagles swept the Rangers, 3-0, on the road, then fell, 3-1, later in the season at the Physical Activities Center.
