USI gets back on track with 1-0 win

RENSSELAER, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team got back on track with a 1-0 road win at Saint Joseph's College Friday night in Rensselaer, Indiana. USI rises to 6-3-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the GLVC, while Saint Joseph's goes to 1-8-0, 0-7-0 GLVC.  
 
USI sophomore forward Makenzie Brinker (Evansville, Indiana) snapped a scoreless tie with her first goal of the season at 65:30 of the second half. Brinker was assisted on the play by senior forward Susan Ellsperman (Newburgh, Indiana).
 
In goal for USI, freshman goalkeeper Jackie Lohmann (Owensboro, Kentucky) recorded her second shutout of the season. Lohmann was confronted by six shots, making two saves.
 
USI completes its two-match road swing Sunday when travels to the University of Indianapolis for an 11 a.m. (CDT) contest. The Greyhounds took their record to 3-6-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the GLVC after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College, 4-0, tonight at home.
