EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team hopes to get back on track when it travels to Saint Joseph's College and the University of Indianapolis this weekend. USI kicks off this week's GLVC action Friday at 7:30 p.m. versus Saint Joseph's in Rensselaer, Indiana, and concludes the road swing Sunday at 11 a.m. (CDT) against UIndy in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Screaming Eagles (5-3-0, 4-2-0 GLVC) are coming off a successful homestand, taking three of the four matches. USI won the first three matches, including last Friday's 3-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, but dropped the final match of the homestand, 1-0, to Lewis University.
Leading the way for USI during the homestand was senior forward
Susan Ellsperman (Newburgh, Indiana), who had 11 points on four goals and three assists. Ellsperman also leads the Eagles through the first eight games with 13 points on five goals and three assists.
Freshman forward
Madi Vellky (Dublin, Ohio) follows Ellsperman in the scoring column with seven points on three goals and one assist, while junior forward

Between the posts, senior goalkeeper
Jackie Lohmann (Owensboro, Kentucky) has a 1.48 goals against average and 45 saves in eight matches.
The Pumas of Saint Joseph's (1-7-0, 0-6-0 GLVC) are still in search of their first GLVC win in 2012. After splitting its first weekend of non-conference play, Saint Joseph's has lost its first six conference matches and was outscored by Bellarmine University and McKendree University, 13-1, last weekend.
Saint Joseph's leads the all-time series with USI, 9-8-2, but the Eagles have won the last three meetings. USI defeated the Pumas last year in double-overtime, 2-1, at Strassweg Field.
The Greyhounds of UIndy (2-6-0, 1-5-0 GLVC) also were swept last weekend by McKendree and Bellarmine, losing both, 1-0. UIndy won its first match of the year, but has lost six of its last seven contests.
UIndy leads the all-time series with USI, 9-8-0, and have won four of the last six meetings. The Greyhounds took last year's meeting at Strassweg Field, 2-1.
