EVANSVILLE, IN – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field Friday to start a four-game homestand in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. USI begins the homestand at 5 p.m. Friday when it hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis and hits the halfway point noon Sunday when Maryville University visits.
The Screaming Eagles (2-2-0, 1-1-0 GLVC) split their first road trip of the year when it lost a 1-0 decision Friday at 21
st-ranked Quincy University, but bounced back Sunday to defeat the University of Illinois Springfield, 1-0. Senior midfielder/forward

Ben Dempsey (Evansville, Indiana) recorded the win Sunday. Dempsey made three saves against six shots during his first start of the year.
The Tritons of UMSL (1-2-0, 0-1-0 GLVC) visit the Eagles after dropping a 2-1 double-overtime loss to McKendree University Sunday. UMSL had its 2012 GLVC opener against Bellarmine University postponed due to storms.
UMSL leads the all-time series with USI, 18-4-1, after winning seven of the last eight meeting and defeating the Eagles, 2-1, last year in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Saints of Maryville (1-4-0, 1-1-0 GLVC) are coming off a split in GLVC's opening weekend. Maryville got its first win of the year, 2-1, over McKendree, but fell, 3-0, to Bellarmine on Sunday.
USI leads the all-time series with Maryville, 2-1-0, after defeating the Saints, 4-3, in overtime last year. The Eagles have won two in a row against Saints after dropping the series opener in 2009.
Following this weekend, USI wraps up the four-game homestand September 21 and 23 when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis University, respectively.
