EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team lost a soggy 6-0 decision to 20
th-ranked William Jewell College Friday evening at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 6-5-0 overall and 5-4-0 in the GLVC, while WJC goes to 10-1-0, 7-1-0 GLVC.
Cardinals junior forward Sarah Franklin took control of the match early in the first half and scored all four of the WJC's goals in the opening stanza. WJC would take that 4-0 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
In the second half, WJC junior midfielder Kate Beaver capped off the Cardinal win with two goals to give the match a final score of 6-0. The match was halted at the 80:25 mark due to rain and poor field conditions.
The Eagles conclude the short two-match homestand at 2:30 p.m. Sunday when they host 12
th-ranked Rockhurst University. The Hawks rose to 10-0-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the GLVC after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College, 4-1, Friday afternoon in Owensboro, Kentucky.
