SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team got its road trip off to a great start with a 1-0 victory at Drury University Friday evening in Springfield, Missouri. USI goes to 7-5-1 overall and 6-4-1 in the GLVC, while Drury is 6-6-1, 4-6-1 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles got the matches' only goal in the first half and took a 1-0 lead at 18:43. USI freshman forward
Madi Vellky (Dublin, Ohio) recorded her fourth goal of the season off a pass from sophomore forward

In the second half, USI freshman goalkeeper
Jackie Lohmann (Owensboro, Kentucky) kept the Panthers at bay to earn her fourth shutout of the season. Lohmann faced nine total shots in the match and made three saves, two in the second half.
Overall, USI outshot Drury, 13-9, while each team had two corner kicks each.
USI continues its three-match road swing Sunday in Rolla, Missouri, when it visits Missouri University of Science and Technology. The Miners are 6-7-0 overall and 4-7-0 in the GLVC after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College, 3-1, at home tonight.
