Eagles start road trip with loss

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team was shutout at Rockhurst University, 2-0, Friday night to start a two-match road swing. USI goes to 1-6-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the GLVC, while Rockhurst rises to 4-2-0, 3-2-0 GLVC.

 

In a tight first half, Rockhurst took control in the first half with a goal at14:46. The Hawks outshot the Screaming Eagles, 6-5, but USI had the advantage in corner kicks, 3-2.

 

The second half saw the Hawks tighten their control of the match, out shooting the Eagles, 8-3, and sealing the match with their second goal in the final minute of action.

 

USI finishes its two-match road swing Sunday when it travels to William Jewell College for the first time in the program's history. WJC was 2-4-0 and 0-1-3 GLVC before playing Kentucky Wesleyan College this evening.
