Volleyball looks to bounce back after tough loss

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team is looking to bounce back from a tough loss to No. 14 Northern Kentucky University when it visits the University of Indianapolis and Saint Joseph's College this Friday and Saturday.

Match time for the USI-UIndy contest is slated for Friday at 6 p.m. (CDT) in Indianapolis, while the USI-Saint Joseph's match is scheduled to begin Saturday at 3 p.m. in Rensselaer, Indiana. USI (6-3, 4-1 GLVC) enters the week tied with Indianapolis (6-4, 4-1 GLVC) for second-place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division. The Screaming Eagles had won four straight matches prior to their loss to Northern Kentucky, while Indianapolis has won four straight matches.

Saint Joseph's (5-6, 0-5 GLVC), which hosts Kentucky Wesleyan College Friday, has lost five straight matches after beginning the year with a 5-1 record.

Leading the Eagles into the weekend is senior middle blocker Danielle LaGrange and sophomore libero Kayla Heldman. LaGrange is averaging a team-best 3.58 kills and 0.90 blocks per set in addition to a team-high .298 attacking percentage. Heldman leads the Eagles with 3.94 digs per frame.
