EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team dropped its homestand finale to Drury University, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 1-5-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the GLVC, while Drury goes to 5-2-0, 3-1-0 GLVC.
The first half had the Panthers taking charge with the only goal of the first 45 minutes and a 7-4 lead in shots. The first half tally would be all that Drury would need for the victory.
In the second half, the Screaming Eagles tried to come to life offensively. USI outshot the Panthers 6-5, but could not find the back of Drury's goal.
Drury had a 12-10 advantage in shots overall, while USI had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Eagles are going to have to find the right track on the road next week in the GLVC when they travel to Rockhurst University Friday and William Jewell College Sunday. Kick off at Rockhurst is 7:30 p.m. Friday, while the start time at William Jewell is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
