Eagles and Rangers battle to tie

KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside battled to a 0-0 double-overtime tie Sunday afternoon in Kenosha, Wisconsin. USI goes to 5-6-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the GLVC, while UW-Parkside finishes the day 7-2-1 overall and in the GLVC.
 
The Rangers controlled the first 45 minutes, out shooting the Screaming Eagles, 15-2.
 
USI and UWP continued the back and forth affair in the second half, but neither team was able to score. Eagles' senior goalkeeper Stephanie Bodamer (Highland, Indiana) saved USI in regulation with three spectacular saves, including one on a penalty kick.
 
In the overtime periods, the Rangers had the only four chances and finished the match with a 31-10 lead in shots. Bodamer completed the match with 13 saves, three coming in the first overtime period, and her third shutout of the season.
 
The Eagles complete the four-game road swing next weekend when they travel to Maryville University October 14 and the University of Missouri-St. Louis October 16.
