KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team posted its first win in the GLVC with a 1-0 overtime victory at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Sunday afternoon in Kenosha, Wisconsin. USI raises its record to 2-9-1 overall and 1-8-1 in the GLVC, while UW-Parkside 6-5-1, 4-5-1 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles got the game-winning goal off the foot of sophomore forward
Rush Dugger (Hanson, Kentucky) with five minutes to play in the first overtime period. Dugger's second goal of the year came off a pass from freshman defender
Miles Durham (Madisonville, Kentucky). The assist was Durham's first as a collegiate player.
USI junior goalkeeper
Ben Dempsey (Evansville, Indiana) preserved the Eagles' victory by making five saves in the overtime match. The shutout was Dempsey's third of the year.
Overall, UW-Parkside outshot USI, 14-11, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 8-2.
The Eagles start the second segment of its five-game road swing next weekend when they travel to Maryville University October 14 and the University of Missouri-St. Louis October 16.
