USI drops first round match-up at UW-Parkside

KENOSHA, Wis. – The sixth-seededUniversity of Southern Indiana women's soccer team was shut out by third-seeded University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in Kenosha, Wisconsin. USI finishes the 2011 campaign 9-8-2 overall, while UW-Parkside advances the GLVC final four with a 12-2-2 mark.
The Screaming Eagles and the Rangers battled to a scoreless tie for 49 minutes before UW-Parkside got on the board at 49:26. The Rangers would seal the victory at 61:41 for the 2-0 final.
The momentum was against the Eagles for most of the match as the Rangers out shot them 23-2. UW-Parkside also had the advantage in corner kicks, 9-1. Senior goalkeeper
