EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team broke its seven-game losing streak with a 0-0 double-overtime tie with Saint Joseph's College Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI takes its record to 1-8-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the GLVC, while SJC goes to 4-4-2, 4-2-2 GLVC.
Throughout regulation and both “sudden victory” overtime periods, the Screaming Eagles and Pumas battled up and down the field. USI seems to have the greater amount of opportunities, out shooting SJC, 20-11. Both team also had five shots on-goal.

Ben Dempsey (Evansville, Indiana) stood tall between the posts for the Eagles and recorded his second shutout of the year. Dempsey made five saves in 110 minutes of action to post the shutout.
The Eagles go on the road for the next five matches, four in the GLVC. The road trip starts Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Romeoville, Illinois, when USI visits Lewis University.
