Stephanie Bodamer (Highland, Indiana) led USI to a 1-0 victory at Maryville University Friday afternoon in St. Louis, Missouri. USI rises to .500 at to 6-6-2 overall and 6-4-1 in the GLVC, while Maryville falls to 3-10-1, 3-8-0 GLVC.
Kohnen scored the game-winning goal at 62:25 of the second half off a pass from freshman forward
Makenzie Brinker (Evansville, Indiana). The goal was Kohnen's third of the season.
The one goal would be all that Bodamer would need as she recorded her fourth shutout of the season. Bodamer had three saves in the victory.
Overall, USI outshot Maryville, 11-9, and had a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Eagles finish their four-game road swing at noon Sunday when they visit the University of Missouri-St. Louis. UMSL, which is 5-6-0 overall and 4-5-0 GLVC, is hosting Kentucky Wesleyan College tonight in St. Louis.
USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field October 21 to play the University of Illinois Springfield and start a regular-season ending three-match homestand.
