HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer lost its GLVC opener at ninth-ranked Northern Kentucky University, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in Highland Heights, Kentucky. USI falls to 1-1-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the GLVC, while NKU improves to 1-0-1, 1-0-0 GLVC.

NKU struck early in the match with goals at 15:15 and 22:15 to lead 2-0 at the intermission. The Norse finished out the 3-0 shutout by sealing the victory with a goal at 74:13 of the second half.

USI was outshot by NKU, 15-4, as the Eagles were only able to put three shots on goal. NKU also held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Eagles continues its four-game road swing Wednesday when they travel to Oakland City University for a 3 p.m. USI finishes the road trip within the GLVC September 10 at Saint Joseph's College and September 12 at the University of Indianapolis.
