EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team comes home to Strassweg Field for a pair of GLVC games this weekend. USI kicks off the weekend at 5 p.m. Friday against Lewis University and concludes the homestand Sunday at noon versus the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
USI (3-2-0, 1-2-0 GLVC) finished last week 2-1-0 after splitting a GLVC road swing with a 2-1 win at Saint Joseph's College and a 2-0 loss at the University of Indianapolis. The Eagles opened last week with a 2-0 non-conference home win over West Virginia University Institute of Technology.

Michael Simcock lead the team in scoring with five points each on two goals, including a game-winner, and one assist. Sophomore forward
Jeff McClure had USI's third game-winning goal and leads a group of five players with one goal each.
Between the posts, freshman goalkeeper Jeff Niedlinger leads the squad with a 1.14 goals against average (GAA) and a 2-2-0 record. He also has one shutout to his credit.
Lewis (1-3-0, 1-2-0 GLVC) has managed a victory in its first four games, splitting a GLVC homestand last weekend. The Flyers defeated Maryville, 6-0, on Friday, but lost to Missouri University of Science & Technology, 2-1, on Sunday.
USI trails the all-time series with Lewis, 19-16-0, after falling to the Flyers, 1-0, last year in Romeoville, Illinois. Lewis has won the last seven meetings with USI.
UW-Parkside (3-1-1, 1-1-1, GLVC), which plays at Kentucky Wesleyan College Friday afternoon before coming to USI, split its conference homestand last weekend. The Rangers, who started the year with two wins, lost to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 2-0, before rallying to defeat Maryville University, 3-1.
The Eagles lost last year's match-up with the Rangers, 1-0, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and trail the all-time series, 16-5-1.
