INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana junior forward
Nancy Newcomer scored a pair of late goals to lead the Screaming Eagles to a 2-0 victory at the University of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon. USI raises its record to 3-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the GLVC, while UIndy falls to 0-3-1, 0-2-1 GLVC.
USI and UIndy were in a scoreless duel until 70:02 when Newcomer found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. The goal was unassisted from 30 yards out.
Newcomer sealed the victory 12 minutes later when she converted a pass from junior forward
Meagan Kempf at 82:17. The assist for Kempf was her fourth of the year.

Stephanie Bodamer posted her second straight shutout. Bodamer, who made five saves in the win over UIndy, extended her streak of shutout minutes to 163:40 in her last four games.
The Eagles, who were 3-1-0 during the four-game road, return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field Friday when they start a two-match homestand by hosting Lewis University at 7:30 p.m. USI finishes the homestand next Sunday (September 19) when it welcomes the University of Wisconsin-Parkside to Strassweg for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
