USI drops a 2-0 decision at UIndy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision at the University of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon. USI falls to 3-2-0 overall and 1-2-0 GLVC, while UIndy goes to 2-1-0, 2-1-0 GLVC.
The Greyhounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 45 minutes with goals at 29:23 and 43:37. UIndy dominated the first half, out shooting the Eagles, 8-2.
The Eagles tried to build momentum in the second half, out shooting the Greyhounds, 8-6, but could not find the back of the net.  UIndy still had the advantage in shots-on-goal by the end of the match, 9-5
USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field Friday when it starts a two-match homestand by hosting Lewis University at 5 p.m. The squad finishes the homestand next Sunday (September 19) when it welcomes the University of Wisconsin-Parkside to Strassweg for a noon contest.
