EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team claimed the third seed in the GLVC Tournament next weekend with a three-set victory (25-12, 25-19, 25-22) over the University of Illinois-Springfield Saturday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center.
In a fitting way to end the regular season and Senior Day, the Screaming Eagles were led by their three seniors—outside hitter
Brittani Oliver, right side hitter
Katie Knott, and defensive specialist
Janae Curnutt.
Oliver had a match-high 14 kills to go along with a .467 attacking percentage and five blocks, while Knott had a career-high 10 kills and a blistering .625 attacking percentage. Curnutt finished with three kills and 13 digs as the Eagles completed the regular season by winning five of their final six matches.
As a team, the Eagles (17-10, 10-4 GLVC) had a .385 attacking percentage for the match, including a .500 clip in the opening set.

The Eagles, who finished their home schedule with an 8-2 record, open GLVC play Friday at noon when they take on the sixth-seed, Rockhurst University, in Romeoville, Illinois. Rockhurst (22-9, 9-5 GLVC) defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in five sets Saturday to qualify for the conference tournament.
