RENSSELAER, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team attacked at a .400 clip in the final frame to defeat Saint Joseph's College in five sets (25-17, 16-25, 25-16, 17-25, 15-8) Friday night.
Freshman middle blocker
Emily Diedrich had 13 kills, three blocks, and a blistering .600 attacking percentage to lead the Screaming Eagles, who picked up their fourth straight win in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
USI (10-6, 5-2 GLVC), which moved into a three-way tie for third in the GLVC standings, only a game back of first place, also got 11 kills, 12 digs, and a .360 attacking percentage from senior outside hitter
Brittani Oliver.
Freshman setter
Jorae Bradbury added five kills and a .364 attacking percentage. Bradbury, who set the Eagles' offense to a .235 attacking clip for the match, racked up a match-high 43 assists and 21 digs to go along with her two service aces and three blocks.
USI, which held the Pumas (8-9, 3-4 GLVC) to attacking percentages of .054 and .062 in the third and fifth sets, respectively, was aided defensively by the play of junior middle blocker
Danielle LaGrange and freshman defensive specialist
Kayla Heldman.
LaGrange, who had nine kills, finished with a team-high four blocks, while Heldman matched Bradbury's match-high 21 digs. Senior defensive specialist

The Eagles return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. (CDT) when they visit No. 20 University of Indianapolis. The Greyhounds (13-6, 5-2 GLVC), the defending NCAA II Midwest Region champions, are one of the three teams tied for the third in the conference standings after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College in three sets Friday night in Indianapolis.
