ROLLA, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team scored three second half goals to defeat Missouri University of Science & Technology, 4-2, Sunday afternoon in Rolla, Missouri. USI raises its record to 10-3-0 overall and 8-3-0 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T falls to 6-4-0 overall and in the GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles and the Miners battled to a 1-1 tie after the first 45 minutes to start the match. The Miners opened the scoring at the 8:08 mark, while the Screaming Eagles sophomore midfielder
Paige Nuelle (St. Louis, Missouri) knotted the score up with a tally at 11:16. Nuelle's goal was her fourth of the year.
USI flew out to a 3-1 lead to start the second half. Freshman forward
Jessica Scott (Louisville, Kentucky) gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead at 48:15 off a pass from freshman forward
Julia Kohnen (Florissant, Missouri), while junior forward
Nancy Newcomer (Parma Heights, Ohio) scored the eventual game winner 11 minutes later at 59:19.
Scott's goal was her second goal of the season, while Newcomer's tally was her sixth of the season.
After Miners cut the Eagles' lead to 3-2 at 61:43, Scott sealed the victory with her second goal of the game and her third of the season for the 4-2 final. She was assisted by junior forward
Meagan Kempf (Evansville, Indiana).

Stephanie Bodamer (Highland, Indiana) allowed two goals and made seven saves to get her 10th win of the season.
The Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field October 15 at 7 p.m. when they host a non-conference match with Urbana University. USI will conclude the short two-game homestand October 17 with a GLVC match-up with the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
