ROLLA, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team stumbled in its final regular season road game of 2010, losing, 2-0, to Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla, Missouri. USI falls to 7-6-0 overall and 5-6-0 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T rises to 7-2-2, 7-1-2 GLVC.
The Miners scored the game-winning goal in the first half and sealed the victory with a tally in the second half for the 2-0 win. Missouri S&T outshot USI, 19-8, but the Eagles had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-3.
USI sophomore goalkeeper
Ben Dempsey (Evansville, Indiana) tied a career-high with nine saves in the loss.
The Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field for a four-game homestand to finish out the 2010 regular season. USI starts its homestand at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Oakland City University.
