Men's soccer loses another close one, 1-0

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team closed out its first GLVC road trip of the 2009 season with a 1-0 loss at Lewis University Sunday afternoon in Romeoville, Illinois. USI, who lost both matches on the road trip, 1-0, falls to 2-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the GLVC, while Lewis goes to 4-2-1, 3-2-0 GLVC.

The Flyers got on the board with the matches' only goal in the first half when senior forward Nestor Hernandez scored with 10 minutes to play before intermission. Lewis also outshot USI in the match, 21-13, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 10-2.

The Screaming Eagles return home to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field next weekend for a short two-match homestand that features the University of Illinois-Springfield Friday evening and Quincy University on Sunday. The Eagles are 2-1 at home this season.
