Women's soccer blanked by Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team was shutout by Drury University Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri. USI, which falls below the .500 mark, goes 5-6-2 overall and 4-4-1 GLVC, while Drury rises to 10-2-0, 7-1-0 GLVC.

The Panthers controlled the match from start to finish, scoring the only goal they would need in the first and sealing the victory with a pair of tallies in the second half. Drury out shot USI, 16-4, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 8-2.

The Screaming Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field next weekend for their final homestand of the season. USI hosts Missouri University of Science and Technology Friday at 5 p.m. and Maryville University October 11 at noon for Senior Day.
