ROMEOVILLE, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team fell to No. 13 Lewis University 25-11, 25-19, 25-13 Friday night in a rematch of the 2008 GLVC Tournament Championship match.

Lewis (22-3, 9-0 GLVC) attacked at a .404 pace and held the Screaming Eagles to a .083 attacking clip as it extended its winning streak to 19 and its home winning streak to 35.

USI (12-13, 4-5 GLVC) saw the Flyers open the first set with seven straight points to establish the tone for the match. The Flyers hit .565 in the first game as they raced out to a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Eagles jumped out to an early advantage in the second game, but a 6-1 run allowed Lewis to build a six-point cushion later in the set as the Flyers gained a two-game lead. Lewis, which hit .452 in the third frame, used a 7-1 surge early in the final stanza to build a 9-3 lead. The Eagles closed the gap to three points, but another Lewis surge allowed the Flyers to close the match out in straight sets.

Sophomore middle blocker Danielle LaGrange led the Eagles with nine kills and a .350 attacking percentage, while senior outside hitter Stephanie Sagat had 12 kills and a .526 attacking percentage to lead the Flyers.

USI returns to action Saturday when it visits the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in a match that can be viewed live via the web on B2 Networks. Match time is slated for 3 p.m. in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
