ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team continued to suffer through an offensive drought and was blanked by the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 2-0, Friday evening in St. Louis, Missouri. USI falls to 3-10-1 overall and 3-9-0 in the GLVC, while UMSL goes to 7-5-2, 5-4-2 GLVC.
The Triton jumped out in front in the first half with a goal at 37:57 and sealed the win with a second half tally at 54:27. UMSL outshot the Screaming Eagles, 16-9, and had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
USI continues with its season-ending road swing outside of the GLVC on Sunday when it travels to Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. The Buccaneers are 4-7-1 overall in 2009 after having a pair of matches cancelled this week.
The Eagles will complete the 2009 regular season and GLVC play next week when they travel to Kentucky Wesleyan College and Bellarmine University next weekend.
