Men's soccer heads into final road stretch

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team starts the first half of a final four-game road swing Friday at 7:30 p.m. when they play at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. USI finishes the first half of the road trip at noon Sunday with a non-conference match-up at Christian Brothers University.

The Screaming Eagles (3-9-1, 3-8-0 GLVC) begin this week's action looking to break a six-match winless streak. USI has struggled offensively the last few weeks, scoring only two goals in the six matches.

First up on the road for the Eagles is the Tritons of UMSL (6-5-2, 4-4-2 GLVC). UMSL has won its last two matches, including a double-overtime win over Maryville University that broke a three-match losing streak.

The Tritons lead the all-time series with the Eagles, 15-4-1, but USI won last year's meeting at Strassweg Field, 1-0.

The Buccaneers of CBU (4-7-1) started the week with a match against Harding University postponed by rain and still have Rhodes College on the schedule before welcoming the Eagles to Memphis. CBU had lost two in a row coming into this week's action.

USI lost its only meeting with CBU, 1-0, at Strassweg Field in 1997.
