SAUGET, Ill.. – The 26th-ranked University of Sothern Indiana baseball team was bounced from the GLVC Tournament with a 9-4 loss to Northern Kentucky University Friday afternoon at the GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois. USI falls to 36-20 overall, while NKU goes to 34-22.
The Eagles continued to struggle offensively against NKU, leaving the eight runners on base and the bases loaded in the fifth inning. USI junior third basemanÂ

Caleb Emhke (Waterloo, Indiana) highlighted the Eagles' hitting attack with a two-run triple and a RBI-double, respectively.

On the mound, USI senior left-handerÂ
Cory Julian (Lynnville, Indiana) dropped to .500 mark. Julian (5-5) pitched six innings and allowed eight hits and five runs, while striking out five.
The Norse opened the scoring with a tally in the first inning and increased the lead to 4-0 before the Eagles could get on the scoreboard. NKU kept USI at bay by responding each time the Eagles posted a tally on the scoreboard.
USI will await word Monday morning as to whether it will earn a berth in the NCAA Division II North Central Regional.
