EVANSVILLE, Ind.– The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team surpassed the century mark for the first time since 2006 with a 103-58 victory over Harris-Stowe State University Tuesday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI moves back over the .500 mark at 3-2 overall, while HSSU falls to 0-4 to start the campaign.

The Screaming Eagles took control of the game in a three minute span of the first half by expanding a 12-10 advantage into a commanding 30-11 lead. USI was led during the run by senior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York), who had eight points, and junior forward Brandon Russ (Cincinnati, Ohio), who dropped in six.

The Eagles would extend the lead to as many as 26 points, 50-24, before settling for the 21 point margin, 53-21, at the intermission.

HSSU cut the USI margin under 20 points in the first five minutes of the second half, but could come no closer than 17 points at 58-41 with 14:03 to play. The Eagles began to slowly advance their lead from that point, leading by as many as 50 points before settling for the 103-58 victory.

Russ would led four Eagles in double figures with a season-high 22 points. Pimble was next in the scoring column with 18 points, while junior forward Tyrone Bradshaw (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior center Jeron Lewis (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 17 points and 16 points, respectively.

Lewis also led the USI rebounders with a season-best nine boards, while Bradshaw continued to be a presence in the paint with three blocks. The Eagles also had a season-best 22 assists, led by junior guard Marvin Gray (Bahamas) with five.

The Eagles reach the midway point of the six-game homestand Saturday when they host the University of Saint Francis for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
