EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team got back to the .500 mark with a 3-0 shutout of Maryville University Thursday night at Strassweg Field. USI, which has won three in a row and three of four during the homestand, takes its record to 5-5-0 overall, while Maryville falls to 4-6-2.

The three-match winning streak is the first for the Screaming Eagles since the 2003 season.

USI dominated much of the match, out shooting Maryville, 22-9, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 7-1.

The Eagles started the scoring 7:35 into the match when sophomore midfielder Justin Fox (Avon, Indiana) scored his third goal of the season. Fox made the score 1-0 off a pass from freshman midfielder Caleb Johnson (Evansville, Indiana).

USI would add another goal before halftime when freshman defender Danny Pratte (Florissant, Missouri) headed in his first collegiate goal to make the score 2-0. Pratte deflected in a pass from sophomore forward Dan Dormeier (Newburgh, Indiana) at the 22:33 mark.

In the second half, USI senior midfielder Tyree Robinson (Jefferson City, Missouri) sealed the victory with his second goal of the season to make the score 3-0. Johnson crossed the ball to Robinson in front of the goal for his second assist of the night.

Between the posts, junior goalkeeper Brad Cadden (Carmel, Indiana) posted his first win of the season and his third straight shutout, dating back to last year. Cadden, who led the Eagles to a pair of shutouts at the end of 2007, made four saves and faced nine shots total to get the win.

The Eagles conclude the five-match homestand Sunday when they host Quincy University for a GLVC match. Kick-off is scheduled for noon.
