EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team dropped its first GLVC game of the year, losing to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 72-65, Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI falls to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the GLVC, while UW-Parkside goes to 9-4, 2-3 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles fell behind early and trailed throughout most of the first half. The Rangers led by as many as seven point several times before going into the locker room with a 36-30 halftime lead.

USI came back to press UW-Parkside in the final 10 minutes of the contest, taking its first lead of the game, 53-52, with 7:13 left. After the lead went back-and-forth, the Eagles recorded their largest lead of the game, 61-59, with 3:55 to play.

The Rangers regained control of the contest with a 5-0 run to take a 64-61 lead, marking the final lead change of the game. USI would close to within one point, 64-63, but would get no closer.

USI was led by the strong effort of senior forward Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio). Plummer recorded his sixth double-double of the year, posting a game-high 20 points and 18 rebounds.

USI junior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) followed Plummer in the scoring column with 15 points, while sophomore guard Darren Cloud (Evansville, Indiana) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 14 points.

The Eagles concluded the first GLVC homestand of the year when they host Lewis University Saturday at 3:15 p.m. Lewis fell to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in the GLVC after losing to Kentucky Wesleyan College, 69-61, in Owensboro, Kentucky.
