EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of the Physical Activities Center this weekend when it hosts No. 23 Rockhurst University Friday at 7 p.m. and Drury University Saturday at 3 p.m.
USI (7-5, 2-2 GLVC) was 2-1 on the road last week, posting victories over Tiffin University and the University of Missouri-Rolla. However, a disappointing setback to the University of Missouri-St. Louis has left a bitter taste in the Screaming Eagles' mouths and has them focused on getting back on track this weekend.
Senior middle blocker
Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) and junior libero
Amber Gogel (Ferdinand, Indiana) are leading the Eagles in 2007. Rahman, who hit .452 with 4.45 kills and 1.36 blocks per game last week, leads USI with a .326 attacking percentage, 3.08 kills, and 1.14 blocks per game.
Gogel, who has reached the 30-dig plateau in three matches this season, is fourth in the conference with a team-best 4.86 digs per game. She is averaging nearly seven digs per game in conference matches.
Rockhurst (10-4, 3-2 GLVC) enters the PAC having lost three of its last four matches, while Drury (7-6, 2-3 GLVC), which hosts Southwest Baptist University Wednesday night, enters the PAC having won two of its last three contests.
