USI men's soccer blanked by UIndy

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team was shutout by the University of Indianapolis, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 4-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the GLVC, while UIndy goes to 7-1-1 overall, 3-0-0 GLVC.

The Greyhounds scored the only goal they would need at the 42:10 mark of the first half. UIndy sophomore forward Diego Lemus scored off a pass from junior midfielder Jason Kreuzman.

In the second half, the Greyhounds put the game away with three goals within 10 minutes. Sophomore midfielder Jacob Follis scored the second goal at 63:29, while junior midfielder Brian Fishback sealed the match with back-to-back goals at 70:58 and 73:03.

USI was out shot by UIndy, 14-3, and was unable to get a shot on goal in the match. The game was even in corner kicks, 3-3.

The Eagles complete the three-game homestand Friday when they host Truman State University at Strassweg Field. Match time is 7:30 p.m.
