ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team lost to the University of Missouri-St. Louis 30-18, 30-23, 22-30, 30-23 Saturday afternoon.
USI (7-5, 2-2 GLVC) hit just .070 in game one and .097 in game four as it lost for the first time in three matches.
Senior middle blocker
Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with 14 kills, a .387 attacking percentage, and five blocks. Freshman outside hitter
Brittani Oliver (Indianapolis, Indiana) and sophomore outside hitter
Courtney Bealor (LaPorte, Indiana) each had 11 kills, while sophomore right side hitter/setter
Melanie Pund (Ferdinand, Indiana) had 34 assists.
Defensively, junior libero
Amber Gogel (Ferdinand, Indiana) led the Eagles with 31 digs, marking the third time this season she has reached the 30-dig plateau. Sophomore defensive specialist
Julia Ridley (Madisonville, Kentucky) added 15 digs.
The Tritons (6-7, 3-1 GLVC) had four players with at least 10 kills, with Christy Trame finishing with a match-high 17. They also had six players with double-digit dig totals.
USI returns home next Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts No. 20 Rockhurst University at the Physical Activities Center. The Eagles host Drury University next Saturday at 3 p.m.
