KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The 5th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team was upset by Rockhurst University, 75-63, Thursday night in Kansas City, Missouri. USI falls to 25-4 overall and 14-4 in the GLVC, while Rockhurst goes to 17-10, 11-8 GLVC.
The loss also snapped USI's six-game winning streak.
The Screaming Eagles struggled during the first half versus Rockhurst. The Hawks, who led 29-28 at the intermission, held the Eagles to just 33 percent from the field (8-24) and tied them on the boards with 15 rebounds each.
USI also had just two leads in the opening stanza, 5-3 and 26-25. They would be the Eagles' only leads of the game.
Rockhurst pushed its lead to 10 points quickly in the second half, posting margins of 38-28 and 40-30. USI chipped away at the lead, cutting the margin to one, 50-49, on a lay-up by senior centerÂ
Rashard Sullivan (Maimi, Florida) with 6:47 left. The Eagles missed a chance to tie the game when Sullivan could not convert the three-point play and missed the free throw.
The Hawks regained the momentum and re-established its lead. The largest would be 14 points, 75-61, with nine seconds to play.

The Eagles conclude the 2006-07 regular season Saturday at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Drury, which was idle tonight, is 19-7 overall, 12-6 GLVC and has won seven in a row.
