ROLLA, Mo.— The 8th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team swept its first GLVC road trip of the year with an 80-64 victory over the University of Missouri-Rolla Saturday afternoon in Rolla, Missouri. The Screaming Eagles raised their record to 23-3 overall and 12-3 in the GLVC, while the Miners go to 7-16, 2-13 GLVC.
USI controled the contest from the start, jumping out to a 12-2 lead. The Eagles posted largest lead, 19 points, at 41-22 before settling for a 41-25 margin at the intermission. USI senior centerÂ
Rashard Sullivan (Miami, Florida) led the way in the opening half with 12 points.
Sullivan would finish the game with his fifth double-double of the year with a team-high 21 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Eagles maintained its lead during the second, never leading by fewer than 16 points. USI reached its largest lead of the game, 24 points, twice during the second half.

Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana) and junior guardÂ
Kenny Page reached double figures in the scoring column with 14 points and 11 points, respectively. Page and senior forwardÂ
Geoff Van Winkle (Ferdinand, Indiana) also dished out five assists each.
The USI victory, combined with 12th-ranked Quincy University's loss at Drury University, also gave the Eagles a two-game lead in the GLVC West Division with four games left.
The Eagles have their final homestand of the regular season next week when they host Southern Illinois University Edwardsville February 15 and Quincy February 17 at the Physical Activities Center.
