EVANSVILLE, Ind.— The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team turned out its most efficient offensive performance of the year Friday night as it used a season-high .356 attacking percentage to defeat the University of Missouri-Rolla 30-15, 30-23, 30-15 at the Physical Activities Center.

USI (14-13, 8-10 GLVC) dominated games one and three as it recorded attacking percentages of .464 and .429, respectively. The Screaming Eagles held the Miners (3-29, 2-17 GLVC) to an negative .028 attacking clip in game one and a negative .029 attacking percentage in game three.

Sophomore setter Melanie Pund (Ferdinand, Indiana) directed the Screaming Eagles' offense, which had just seven attacking errors on the night. Pund finished with 28 assists, five kills, a .833 attacking percentage, seven digs, and three blocks.

Senior middle blocker Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana), junior middle blocker Meg Buschman (Reynolds, Indiana), and sophomore right side hitter Kathi Hindman (Carmel, Indiana) each had eight kills to lead USI's attack. Rahman—who served for 22 points, including 14 in the third game alone—also had four service aces and four blocks.

Freshman outside hitter Brittani Oliver (Indianapolis, Indiana) and sophomore libero Julia Ridley (Madisonville, Kentucky) added 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

With the win, USI moves into a tie with Drury University for the number one wild card spot in the GLVC Tournament. However, the Eagles still need a victory or a Quincy University loss to secure a trip to the post-season. A loss and a Quincy victory would end USI's season, while a USI win and a Drury loss would give the Eagles the number one wild card spot.

The Eagles finish the regular season Saturday at 3 p.m. when they host the University of Missouri-St. Louis for Senior Day. USI will honor its two seniors—Rahman and setter Stephanie Wilson (Terre Haute, Indiana)—prior to the start of the match.
