EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team fell to No. 16 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 30-24, 30-26, 30-19 Saturday afternoon at the Vadalabene Center.
USI (12-13, 7-10 GLVC), which dropped its fourth straight match and fifth straight contest on the road, struggled offensively as it hit just .107 for the match. SIU Edwardsville (22-5, 14-2 GLVC) hit .236 and recorded 55 kills, 20 more than that of USI.
Senior middle blocker 
Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with 10 kills and four blocks, while sophomore libero 
Julia Ridley (Madisonville, Kentucky) had a team-high 17 digs. Sophomore setter 
Melanie Pund (Ferdinand, Indiana) added 30 assists and 11 digs, while freshman defensive specialist 
Janae Curnutt (Arcadia, Indiana) chipped in 11 digs.
The Eagles return home Tuesday at 7 p.m. to take on Oakland City University in a non-conference match at the Physical Activities Center. USI finishes the regular season with home matches against the University of Missouri-Rolla, Friday at 7 p.m., and the University of Missouri-St. Louis Saturday at 3 p.m.
