EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team rolled to a 90-61 victory over Rockhurst University Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center.

Senior guard Katie Thiesenhusen (Muskego, Wisconsin) was red-hot for the Screaming Eagles as she drained eight three pointers and finished with a career-best 30 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists. The eight three pointers was one short of the single-game school and conference record.

USI (10-2, 4-0 GLVC) trailed by a point midway through the first period, but a three-pointer by Thiesenhusen sparked a 20-6 run that put the Eagles up 31-18 with less than three minutes remaining in the first half.

Thiesenhusen had 14 points and three long-range shots in the first half as the Eagles raced out to a 33-25 halftime advantage.

After a 19-4 run put the Eagles up 57-35 in the second half, the Hawks fought their way back into the game as they scored 10 straight points to cut the Eagles lead to 12.

Once again, Thiesenhusen answered the call as she connected on another long-range shot. The three-pointer started a 17-5 run that put the Eagles comfortably ahead (74-52) with seven minutes remaining in the game.

The Eagles also got great efforts from senior forward Sabrina Brandon (Danville, Illinois) and junior guard Akiya Alexander (Evanston, Illinois). Brandon finished with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting, while Alexander matched Brandon in the scoring column in addition to collecting a game-high six steals.

Junior guard Missy Glaser (Evansville, Indiana) led USI with eight rebounds and tied sophomore forward Brittany Neuman (Huntingburg, Indiana) for the team lead with four assists.

As a team, the Eagles shot 54.1 percent from the field, while holding the Hawks to just 35.0 percent shooting.

Rockhurst (6-6, 1-4 GLVC) was led by senior center Courtney Farmer's 15 points and sophomore forward Julie Cook's seven rebounds.

USI, which is 4-0 in conference play for the first time since the 1997-98 season, hosts Drury University Saturday at 1 p.m. at the PAC. The game time is a change from what was printed on season tickets.

Drury (9-4, 3-2 GLVC) is coming off a 72-69 overtime loss to Kentucky Wesleyan College. The loss snapped the Panther's eight-game winning streak.
