EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team lost to No. 20 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in straight sets (30-14, 30-21, 30-27) Tuesday evening at the Vadalabene Center.
USI (8-5, 2-3 GLVC) struggled to get anything going in game as the Cougars (13-2, 6-0 GLVC) held the Eagles to a -.028 attacking percentage, while blasting out a .500 attacking clip.
The Screaming Eagles stiffened their defense in game two, but struggled offensively as they attacked at a .021 clip.
By far the best performance the Eagles had was in game three when they attacked at a .229 clip. USI held a one point lead late in the match, however, the Cougars reeled off a 5-1 run to end the game and close the match.

Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) led USI with nine kills, while senior outside hitter
Chelse Doubler (Griffin, Indiana) chipped in seven kills and a team-high .400 attacking percentage. Junior libero
Cara Keever (Ft. Wayne, Indiana) led USI with 10 digs, while freshman middle blocker
Ashley Henricks (Greenwood, Indiana) had a match-high eight blocks.
The Eagles return to action Friday when they host Quincy University at 7 p.m. They host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Saturday at 3 p.m.
