ROLLA, Mo. — The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team lost in double overtime, 2-1, Sunday afternoon at the University of Missouri-Rolla in Rolla, Missouri. USI falls to 4-11-0 overall and 2-9-0 in the GLVC, while UMR goes to 2-12-1, 2-7-1 GLVC.
The game-winning goal came with 4:13 left in the second overtime by UMR's freshman midfielder Brooke Ryan. USI junior goalkeeper
Meagan Homolla (Portage, Indiana) was ejected after the goal and the match concluded.
After the Miners took a 1-0 lead in the first half, USI tied the score in the second half on a goal by junior forward
Heather DeLonga (Belleville,Illinois). The goal, at 76:18, was DeLonga's first as an Eagle. She was assisted on the play by freshman midfielder
Kara Georgeff (Highland, Indiana).
The Eagles begin their final homestand of the year October 13 when USI hosts Northern Kentucky University at 5 p.m. USI concludes the season a home with Senior Day on October 15 against Bellarmine University.
