USI women's soccer loses season finale

Southern Indiana (4-13-0, 2-11-0 GLVC): 0 Bellarmine (12-4-0, 10-3-0 GLVC): 2

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team allowed a pair of first half goals to fall to Bellarmine University in the season finale, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI finishes the year 4-13-0 overall and 2-11-0 in the GLVC, while Bellarmine advances to the GLVC Tournament with a 12-4-0 record, 10-3-0 GLVC.

The Knights struck early when midfielder Lindsay Scheer scored game-winner 2:41 into the match. Bellarmine sealed the Eagles fate at the 15:53 mark when forward Amanda Moore made the score 2-0 with the final goal of the match. Knights forward MacKenzie Prather assisted on both goals.

The Eagles dominated offensively in the second half, but could not find the back of the net. USI out shot Bellarmine in the match, 15-12, and in the second half, 8-4.
