KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team stumbled on the road to Truman State University in the season opener, 4-0, in Kirksville, Missouri, Friday afternoon. USI (0-1-0) will complete the first road trip of the year at Harris Stowe State College Sunday afternoon in St. Louis, Missouri.
Game time Sunday at Harris Stowe is 1 p.m.
The Bulldogs jumped out in front of the Screaming Eagles early and led at halftime, 3-0. Truman State (1-0-0) finished the scoring with a single tally in the second half.
Truman State out shot the Eagles, 17-8, while USI had the advantage on the corner kicks, 5-2.
Following Sunday's contest at Harris Stowe State, the Eagles will open the home schedule at Strassweg Field when Ashland University visits for a men's and women's doubleheader. The men's game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
