KENNESAW, Ga.—The No. 2-ranked Kennesaw State University Owls scored five runs in the top of the third inning and matched that total in the fourth as they defeated the University of Southern Indiana softball team, 11-0, in five innings Friday morning at the Owl Classic.
USI (0-1) was held to just three hits in the contest, while the Owls pounded out 13 hits.

Lindsey McNaughton (Carmel, Indiana) was charged with the loss after giving up six runs and seven hits in three innings of work. Sophomore pitcher/outfielder
Nikki Nichols (Henderson, Kentucky) gave up five runs in the fourth, but settled down to record a scoreless fifth inning.

Lisa Anderson (Chesterton, Indiana), senior centerfielder
Sunny Oelling (Valparaiso, Indiana), and freshman third baseman
Kristin Eickholt (Van Wert, Ohio) each recorded hits. Anderson's hit was a double that came in the bottom of the first inning, while Oelling and Eickholt each had singles.
The Screaming Eagles will play the University of Nebraska-Omaha Friday evening. First pitch is slated for five o'clock (CST).
