EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball opened the 2005-06 home schedule in spectacular fashion with a 92-43 victory over Robert Morris College Tuesday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI remains perfect in the regular season, raising its record to 4-0 and improving its home winning streak to 24 straight games.
The Screaming Eagles also have won 17 straight regular season games.
USI shot over 60 percent for the third time this year, hitting 63.5 percent from the field (40-63) and 55.6 percent from three-point field goal range (10-18). Senior forwardÂ
Chris Thompson (Starke, Florida) led offensive attack with 24 points, while junior guardÂ
Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana) was second with 16 points.

Keith Christmas (Gary, Indiana) and senior guardÂ
Danny Gibson (Madison, Indiana) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points each. Junior guard/forwardÂ
Marty Wise (New Orleans, Louisiana) had a game-high 10 assists for the Eagles.
Defensively, USI held Robert Morris to 43 points and 31.4 percent from the field (16-51). Robert Morris, which falls to 3-4, scored just 16 points in the first half.
The Eagles resume action at the PAC by hosting the USI Invitational Friday and Saturday. USI will play Glenville State University Friday and Central State University Saturday at 7:30 p.m. each night. Bellarmine University plays Central State University Friday and Glenville State Saturday at 5:30 p.m. each night to begin tournament action.
