FLORENCE, Ala.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team committed 22 attacking errors and was held to a 0.99 attacking percentage as it fell to the No. 7-ranked University of North Alabama Lions 30-24, 30-14, 30-25 Saturday evening.
Junior outside hitter
Emily Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with 10 kills, while senior middle blocker
Laura Ellerbusch (Newburgh, Indiana) had eight kills as well as a team-best .353 attacking percentage and 11 digs.
USI (15-11) had no answer for a Lion attack that racked up 51 kills and a .306 hitting percentage.
UNA (26-1) was led by Vanessa Ferretti's 14 kills and Ashley Hills 20 digs. Laura Bellinger had a match-high 41 assists.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they host Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in a critical GLVC match at the Physical Activities Center.
