SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team dropped the final match of a four-match road trip, 3-1, to Drury University Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri. USI falls back to the .500 mark at 7-7-2 overall and to 6-5-0 in the GLVC, while Drury reaches the .500 mark at 7-7-2 overall, 4-6-2 GLVC.
After Drury shot out to a 2-0 lead in the first half, the Screaming Eagles cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by sophomore forward
Katie Grossman (Evansville, Indiana) with 1:35 to play. Grossman put away the rebound of a shot by sophomore forward
Julie Collins (Merrillville, Indiana) for her fourth goal of the year.
The Panthers sealed the match with a goal late, making the score 3-1 with 57 second left.
USI, which was 0-2-2 on the road trip, will conclude the 2005 regular season with a two-match homestand next weekend at Strassweg Field. The Eagles will host the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Friday evening at 5 p.m. and Lewis University Sunday afternoon at noon.
The USI-Lewis match-up will be Senior Day for the Eagles.
